Anpetu Waste. My name is Kelsey DaRae Knight. I am the 20 year old daughter of
Mark and Connie Knight. I reside in the heart of South Dakota in the small town of
Eagle Butte. I attend college at the Oglala Lakota College and I work for the
Environmental Protection Department, both are located in Eagle Butte. I am the newly
crowned 2012 Miss Indian Rodeo.
Becoming Miss Indian Rodeo has been my dream since the age of 16, and to achieve
my goal that I have wanted for nearly five years is truly a dream come true. I have
already been a busy girl with school, work, and traveling; it is a challenge balancing
the three but when I look back at the one that I put my heart and soul into, traveling to
make appearances as Miss Indian Rodeo will always be at the top. I am looking
forward to my year long reign as Miss Indian Rodeo and hope to meet hundreds of
new friends.
On behalf of myself and the Indian National Finals Rodeo, I would like to wish
everyone a safe and joyous Christmas and remember that the Lord and Savior graced
the Earth with His presence on Christmas day, so rejoice and give Him the praise and
glory. I hope that you all end 2011 with love and happiness and start the New Year out
as you want it to be.
