Greetings, my name is Sharaya Edgewater, and I am big water clan born for coyote pass. I come from Greasewood Springs, Arizona, and am a proud member of the Navajo Nation. In the spring of 2016, I graduated from Ganado High School and attended Central Arizona College from 2016-2018. During my time at CAC, I was a member of the rodeo team, participated and volunteered in the promotion of the sport of rodeo amongst the youth, and obtained my Associate of Science degree. From there I advanced my education at ASU and received my Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry Cum Laude. While at ASU I worked as a habilitation specialist with special needs kids, shadowed various physicians and PAs, and spent my weekends riding horses. Since graduating in 2020, I’ve been working as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, also known as a Medical Technologist, at Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center, where I perform patient testing in an outpatient, inpatient, and emergency setting. Currently, I am 24 years old and pursuing my master’s in Public Health at Grand Canyon University. Outside of school and work I spend my free time volunteering with the Humane Society of the White Mountains and spending time with my family and horses. During my reign as Miss Indian Rodeo 2022-2023, I look forward to spreading awareness and promoting the sport of rodeo across Indian country.
